Sam Raimi
Born October 23, 1959 - Franklin, Michigan
A dynamic, energetic young director, best known for both Spiderman and his horror flicks. He grew up shooting 8mm films, starting pre-teen and continuing through his relatively normal childhood.
His first major film was The Evil Dead, a classic campy horror film starring his childhood friend Bruce Campbell. He had a bomb with Crimewave, but picked himself up and continued the Evil Dead series with two more films, then branched out.
His first superhero film was Darkman, which gave him good experience for the Spiderman films.
He is a huge fan of both the Three Stooges and comic books, and always places his yellow 1973 Oldsmobile Delta 88 (The Classic) somewhere in his films. The only exception was his western, The Quick and the Dead.
Personal Quote: "It was great making movies in college because if you made the right movie you'd get this cigar box full of $1 and $5 bills, you'd have like 500 bucks after a weekend. Wow, we're rich!"
