Jamie Foxx

Born: December 13, 1967 - Terrell, Texas

This energetic, intelligent actor was brought up in Texas by his strong, moral mother and his grandparents. He played sports through school and studied music in college.

He may have continued along this creative path but veered off into stand-up comedy instead, when a girlfriend issued a challenge he could not pass up. He then moved into TV work and eventually broke out on the silver screen.

A gifted musician and actor, Foxx is a threat at at any time to win an Academy Award, a Grammy Award or both. A versatile actor, he has played tough guys, football players and, of course, Ray Charles. He has also been featured on numerous R&B and hip-hop hits, most notably Kanye West's Gold Digger, a number one song during 2005.

Personal Quote: "You know what? I never really factor Hollywood into anything."
