Russell Crowe
Born: April 7, 1964 - Wellington, New Zealand
This powerful, handsome actor is the son of movie set caterers, so he was introduced to that way of life quite early. He began as a child star on Australian TV and moved on to the silver screen with two Australian films, The Sum of Us and Romper Stomper. The former helped cement his popularity and smoothed his way into Hollywood with The Quick and the Dead.
He has also starred in Gladiator, A Beautiful Mind, and Master and Commander: The Far Side of the World among others.
In his spare time he performs with his rock group, "30 Odd Foot of Grunts."
Personal Quote: "All that stuff, this public persona of me - let's call him 'the wild man' - that is not helpful. It doesn't make me more of a box office draw. It's the quality of my work that makes people want to go to my films."
