Tim Burton
Born August 25, 1958 - Burbank, California
This quirky, shy, and dark-imagination director grew up in Burbank.
His artistic skills emerged at an early age, and he attended the California Institute of the Arts, studying art and animation. He worked first for Disney, although some of his films were unsuited for children.
Paul Reubens became interested and asked him to direct Pee-Wee's Big Adventure. His more famous works include Beetlejuice and Batman, and he produced the Halloween favorite among many, The Nightmare Before Christmas. His movies often have a dark or Gothic feel to them, focus on a loner or misunderstood iconclast, and he enjoys casting horror genre actors.
Personal Quote: "I had never really done something that was more of a horror film, and it's funny, because those are the kind of movies that I like probably more than any other genre. The script had images in it that I liked ."
