Week of June 20
Steve Carell and Anne Hathaway take on the evil forces of KAOS and Carell's own comical ineptitude as agent Maxwell Smart in Get Smart. The big-screen adaptation of the 1965 TV spy spoof also features Dwayne (The Rock) Johnson, Alan Arkin, Terence Stamp, Bill Murray, James Caan, and Masi Oka of Heroes.
Mike Myers once again stars in a fish-out-of-water comedy, this time as the title character of The Love Guru. Romany Malco of Weeds plays Myers' first client, a pro hockey player who has lost his wife (Jessica Alba) to a romantic rival (Justin Timberlake).
Also opening in limited release: Kit Kittredge: An American Girl, starring Little Miss Sunshine's Abigail Breslin, Julia Ormond, Chris O'Donnell, Stanley Tucci and Joan Cusack; and immigrant drama Brick Lane.
Week of June 27
Morgan Freeman and Angelina Jolie train cubicle-dweller James McAvoy to follow in the footsteps of his deceased father, an ace assassin, in Wanted. The adaptation of Mark Millar's comic book miniseries also features Common, as a weapons instructor for the deadly fraternity.
The main character of WALL-E the last remaining robot (and inhabitant) on Earth also has his life turned upside down when he meets another of his kind. Sigourney Weaver, Jeff Garlin, Kathy Najimy, Fred Willard, and John Ratzenberger are among those lending their voices to Pixar's latest animation.
Also opening this week: Finding Amanda, in which a television producer (Matthew Broderick) tries to convince his niece (Brittany Snow) to enter rehab; and Gunnin' for That #1 Spot (limited), a documentary about an elite tournament for high school hoopsters in New York City.
