Actor Heath Ledger was found dead today in a Manhattan building, the NYPD said this afternoon. According to police spokesman Paul Browne, Ledger was scheduled to have a massage at his apartment; he was found by his housekeeper when she went to tell him the masseur had arrived.
Authorities say Ledger's death was possibly related to drugs. Whether or not this is the case, it is a shame to lose someone so young and so talented. Ledger had hit a high point in his career when he earned an Academy Award nomination for Brokeback Mountain. Now he'll never have a chance to top it.
